TemporaryRUSSIAN–UKRAINIAN WAR
The exhibition is dedicated to the struggle for Ukraine’s independence and sovereignty. It highlights the country’s path from the restoration of independence to the heroic resistance against full-scale aggression.
About the Exposition
The exhibition offers an in-depth analysis of the causes and course of the Russian–Ukrainian war. The museum halls consistently present the key stages of modern history: from the Revolution of Dignity and the occupation of Crimea to the outbreak of war in the East and the events of the full-scale war that has been ongoing since February 24, 2022. The exhibition captures the unique experience of both civil society and the military, reflecting both the “cold” and “hot” phases of resistance to the aggressor.
At the heart of the exhibition are authentic witnesses of the war: combat trophies, fragments of enemy missiles and UAVs, elements of equipment, and parts of foreign aid that underscore international solidarity with Ukraine. Separate installations emotionally recreate the atmosphere of the first months of the full-scale invasion, highlight the contribution of the local community to defense efforts, and document acts of terror committed by Russian occupiers against civilians.
A central place in the museum space is occupied by the “Wall of Memory.” This memorial section features portraits and personal belongings of fallen soldiers from the Horishni Plavni community. Each exhibit here—from a shoulder patch to a medal—tells a story of sacrifice and resilience of our fellow citizens who gave their lives for the freedom of their homeland.
